Wine Route of the Setúbal Peninsula
Wine Route of the Setúbal Peninsula
It is a region of great beauty, already in the south of the river Tagus, where the Arrábida mountain range with the Natural Park and a Natural Reserve of the Sado Estuary, known for the friendly botanical dolphins.
To the beautiful beaches of Sesimbra and Portinho da Arrábida, a north of the Sado, contrast the huge sands of the Peninsula of Troia, with its casino.
Setúbal is a main city and its historic center deserves to be visited on foot. Your Castle deserves a visit, at the height of the Castle of Sesimbra and the e Palmela.
Palmela and Vila Nogueira de Azeitão are like capitals of the Route, with several wineries and farms to visit. And as tarts of Azeitão deserve their moment.
In this region is born Moscatel de Setúbal wine, one of the most reputed in Portugal. And several different ones that serve fresh and typical choco-fried fish.
Have you tried a fish carvery?
